1. Pg#25 "Children from middle-homes tend to do better in school than those of non-middle-class.
- This quote made many connections to what I have seen and experience through my high school and college. I remember that some of the classmates that had a parents with a profession did better in school because their parents would made them join programs to help them with whatever they needed to improve, in order to set them for college. In addition, in college I see that students who's parents are wealthy do not have to worry about working or paying bills and can just focus on school. These makes their chances of success much higher.
2. Pg#26 "Those with power are frequently less aware of or less willing to acknowledge its existence."
- This quote makes a connection with the Privilege, Power , and difference reading because it lets us know that people with power do not like to pay accept or just ignore the fact that they have an advantage. This also makes a connection to when I was in a soccer team, and when the coach had to choose between a kid who was wealthier and another that was not as wealthy, even though the low class youngster was clearly better he did not choose him because he did not have a ride for practice because his parents had to work when practice was being run.
3. Pg#39 "She had recognize she needed some assistance in the technical aspects of writing soon after she enter the university as a freshman."
- This makes a connection to when I started college and I also had to recognize that I need help with my English if I wanted to succeed in college. I remember that one professor in particular help me a lot she saw my desire to improve so she would always stay with me during office hours to help learn how to read and write. I believe that my high school professor also use the wrong methods to teach me because he would assume that English was my first language, and would give me assignments that would frustrate me and made me quit in learning.
